5 Questions to Answer Before Suggesting a Romantic Vacation to a Workaholic Partner
Updated: Feb 13
Nothing is more frustrating and upsetting than canceling a well-planned vacation because your partner has an urgent meeting because there is a crisis at their job.
Here's a list of 5 critical questions to ask when your partner is a workaholic, and you're trying to plan a romantic getaway.
1. Is it the "peak season?"
You have to know if it's the busiest time of the year. If their phone is always notifying them of anything, better steer clear.
2. Has your partner been off the radar recently?
You know when someone's presence is overwhelming. If they're not checking up and goes along with what you have planned, work might be occupying their thoughts. Not a good time.
3. What is their first response?
When dropping hints about going on a vacation, how's their response? What's the facial expression and mood afterward? Check for signals.
4. How is the internet connection in your vacation spot?
Email checking for some is almost to an obsessive-compulsive level. If there is a good internet connection, you can assure him that he can always check at any time. Plus, if he has urgent calls, Skype or Zoom video and voice calls can be arranged.
5. Is there a way back within 24 hours?
A crisis can't be averted. Life-changing decisions sometimes come without warning. If the need arises and the trip has to be cut short, are you able to go back rather quickly?
